11 Wesleyan Students Overdose on MDMA

11 Wesleyan Students Overdose on MDMA

A spokesperson for the Wesleyan University in Middleton, Connecticut, told Reuters that the students were treated "with overdose symptoms consistent with the use of molly (MDMA)." Seven were taken to local hospitals over the weekend — two, described as "critically ill" were flown to Hartford Hospital, The Hartford Courant reports — while another four made the trips (in every sense of the word) to the ER themselves. Middleton Police told The Courant Sunday night that two students remain in critical condition, and two more in a serious condition.
Michael Whaley, vice president for student affairs, also told Reuters that "the incident is under investigation," and police are believed to be investigating whether a "bad batch" of the drug is responsible.
